There are so many quotes about love in the world, not a day goes by without hearing about it. But do we really live by this?

We listen to love songs on the radio from people who have had three divorces and hate themselves.

The world is only concerned with one type of love, love for my family. What happens though when you start to show love to others and not expect something in return.

Love is something we all need but most of the time is something we need to give out. We all crave love in every degree it is the common bond that makes us human.

We seek for love in bad relationships because we have no self worth or hold to love as a weapon to punish those who have hurt us.

I’m not just talking about love for your family or friends but love for your neighbour and enemy. Do you know that it hurts you more to hold a grudge against someone than it hurts them?! You may be  thinking your punishing them but really your punishing yourself ( taking pride in statements like I will forgive but never forget) because most of the time they don’t even know how you feel about them. Now where is the justice in that?

It’s easy to love those that love us back it takes even more to love others and not expect anything in return.
I see so many people who are miserable and most of the time their problems can be solved. And of all the things I have mentioned this is the most important.

To walk in love is to make a conscious decision everyday no matter how you feel to be an understanding and caring person, to not think your better because of a degree or skin colour. Instead of getting mad at your kid because they are not the best student act with love to talk and find out the root of the problem.

Help someone not for what they can give you in return but because it is the right thing to do, I have an example of that:

Last week, I was in the shopping centre with mum and we were in a mobile phone shop for no particular reason. We were just about to leave when this muslim lady came up to me and in the most timid voice asked if I could help her buy a mobile phone. I could have told her I was busy or told the shop assistant to take over or even decided to help her hoping she would give me a reward. I did neither of those, I showed her around the store and explained everything I knew, she made a selction, paid, thanked me and said goodbye.  Just doing something like that made me feel better that I had made a difference in her life.

Now I’m not giving that example to preach to you from my high horse and say what  a saint I am (I’m not)  because I also try to walk in love everyday because I at times can be a horrible and judgemnetal person. But just making a small effort even if it means making a coffee for someone, saying thank you or I love you can make a difference. It’s the little things that count.

The world or your circumstances are not going to change unless you change.

This is the only quote concerning love that I live by and I hope you do too.

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]

p.s: I’m going to say something that people may not like. But to really reach a level of happiness that never fades and is renewed everyday the only way to get that is with Jesus. You will reach a level of happiness with the tips I have given, but you will never experience the joy of the Lord that has no limit. What the world and the gurus will offer will only last a while and you will keep looking and looking and never find it.
